Detroit Woman Misses Aretha Franklin’s 8 Hour Funeral Says She Was Running A Bit Behind

Detroit, Michigan- Karen Jordan of Detroit arrived at the funeral for The Queen of Soul as it ended.

“I just couldn’t get ready in time to make it” said a flustered Jordan.  “This was for the Queen of Soul and I had to represent. I knew they wouldn’t start right on time so I figured I’d have some time to play with and I guess I just ran a bit behind.”

Asked if traffic was an issue for her, Jordan said it wasn’t because she lives within walking distance of The Greater Grace Temple where the services where held.

“It’s a five minute walk from where I live. I’m really disappointed I just don’t understand how I missed it.  They must have really rushed through it to stay on schedule. They should have taken their time.”

Jordan’s sister Michelle gave up her invitation so that Jordan could attend. Michelle says that she is never speaking to her sister again.
